GRIMM LAB The Neurobiology of Relapse
|

Welcome! Dr. Grimm has established a laboratory at WWU to investigate the neurobiology of relapse. Some of these studies focus on time-dependent changes in relapse behavior that we have identified as the "incubation if craving". These studies are being performed with rats trained to self-administer sucrose or an intravenous cocaine solution. These studies have been, and continue to be, supported by NIH funds. Other projects in the lab involve examining the generality of the incubation of craving effect, the behavioral pharmacology of the incubation of craving, how electrical brain self-stimulation is affected by sucrose self-administration, how environmental enrichment might attenuate the incubation of craving, and how nicotine might affect sucrose craving.
