Welcome to Western!
We are delighted that you have chosen to join the Western faculty. To help orient you to campus and your new role, we offer several events during the first part of the academic year. New Faculty Orientation is held annually in September. Part one, sponsored by Human Resources, is an orientation to employment at Western. Part two is sponsored by the Provost Office and is your formal welcome by the Office of the Provost. Part three is held in October and is a follow-up session to provide you with information about services available on campus for faculty to enhance your teaching, service, or research. It's also a great way to reconnect with your new faculty colleagues and the provost.

Starting location: Tutoring Center inside Wilson Library
This event includes a welcome session where faculty are introduced by their chair and/or college dean. The day continues with presentations and panels by key services such as ATUS (information technology), Registrar's Office, and the Library, as well as by veteran instructors.
Tips:
Lunch and parking are provided.
Multiple locations are used for New Faculty Orientation, so we recommend comfortable shoes and a rain coat or umbrella (just in case!).

Now that you have your feet wet, you might be wondering about other resources available to faculty to help enhance your teaching, service, or research. This event is part-presentation and part-social. We'll have tables hosted by offices such as the Teaching-Learning Academy, the Center for Instructional Innovation & Assessment, Writing Instruction Support, Center for Service-Learning, and Research & Sponsored Programs! This is your time to get your questions answered. Plus, enjoy some time speaking with the provost in a small group setting.
