LOREN WILLIAMS Chemistry - was born in Seattle, and attended the Univeristy of Washington. After graduate school at Duke University, he received postdoctoral training at Harvard and MIT. He bikes skis, play with his son and talks to his wife (Nidhi).	JIANYING ZHANG Mathematics - is a native of Beijing, China who received her Ph.D. in California and did a postdoc in Vancouver, BC. Her research field is in applied mathematics, specialized in computational fluid mechanics. She is interested in arts, music and dancing.
