is happy to return to WA after completing her graduate work in Nebraska. Her research examines social, emotional, & personality development in early childhood. She finds that learning where children’s beliefs about themselves come from is fun because it requires playing puppets with preschoolers! Rebecca loves to travel, cook, hike, & ski. Now that she lives near the water, Rebecca is looking forward to learning to kayak.

Liberal Studies
Hossain received her PhD in European History at the Johns Hopkins
University, and is delighted to have returned to the Pacific Northwest after many
years away. Her research centers on the religious, legal and cultural history of the Spanish world in the 16th and 17th centuries, and has thus afforded her the opportunityto spend many happy months sifting through archives in Spain and Mexico.

Linda
is an Arabic language lecturer. Her area of research is Modern Arabic Literature. Away from reading and writing poetry, she loves to cook, travel, and try new things.

Kelly Jantzen
Psychology
Kelly comes to Western after a post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Complex Systems and Brain Sciences at Florida Atlantic University. KJ specialized in cognitive neuroscience and is interested in how cognition arises from the complex interaction between functionally specialized and distributed regions of the brain. KJ works with a variety of brain imaging techniques and is building an EEG lab here at Western.
