McNeel Jantzen
McNeel Jantzen

Psychology
A native Floridian, Jantzen just finished her postdoctoral work at the Center for Complex Systems & Brain Sciences there. Her research examines how speech perception in a second language depends on an individual's initial perception, how similar non-native sounds are to your native language, "how" individual's learn to distinguish non-native speech sounds, and how all this is reflected in the activity of brain areas that are specialized for speech. She enjoys spending time with her family and is looking forward to ski season.

Paula Johnson
Paula Johnson

Elementary Education
Paula teaches courses in educational psychology. Her research interests include effective teaching, leadership, and technology.

Farrokh Kahnamoui
Farrokh Kahnamoui

Economics
He received his Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University in 2007. In 2006-2007 he received the Graduate Assistant Teacher of the Year Award of the economics dept at SIU. In New York he was a lecturer at Yeshiva University, Hunter College, Manhattan College and New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies. His teaching interests include international economics, economics of social issues, history of economic thought and macroeconomics. His research interests are international trade, development, role of social institutions in economic growth and economic systems.

Jason Kanov
Jason Kanov

Management
Jason has a PhD in organizational psychology from the University of Michigan. His research focuses on compassion in the workplace and on the nature and consequences of interpersonal disconnection. Originally from Florida he has lived in Seattle for the past two years. His hobbies include playing volleyball and guitar, and exploring the area with his partner, Jenn.

Jennifer Keller
Jennifer Keller

Journalism
Jennifer has more than 15 years of “real world” public relations experience in Washington, DC, Chicago and Seattle. She also spent three years teaching public relations at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY. She teaches public relations and news writing, among other courses. She enjoys cooking gourmet meals, traveling with her husband, the Cubs and NASCAR, and is looking forward to exploring this area of the world.

Molly Lawrence

Secondary Education
Originally from Illinois, Molly has lived in Georgia for the last 7 years. She loves the outdoors and spends much of her spare time rock climbing. Her academic interests include working with future teachers in ways that position them as resources in the educational arena, rather than just apprentices. She plans to explore ways to incorporate service-learning, sustainability education, and democratic learning in her work with pre-service teachers.

Kristin Mahoney
Kristin Mahoney

English
Kristin Mahoney completed her Ph.D at the University of Notre Dame. A specialist in Victorian literature, her teaching and research interests include British aestheticism, aesthetic theory, economics, urban literature, and nineteenth-century historical literature. She is currently working on a project on avant-garde aesthetics and late-Victorian aestheticism. Her article, “Haunted Collections: Vernon Lee and Ethical Consumption,” is forthcoming in Criticism: A Quarterly for Literature and the Arts. She is also editing a new edition of Baron Corvo’s Hubert’s Arthur for Valancourt Books.
