Env Studies
Jennifer earned degrees in history from Brown University and the University of Washington and has taught at the National University of Ireland-Galway. Her research focuses on the environmental and cultural history of epidemic disease in the North American West. She enjoys hiking, running, cooking, and playing soccer.

Jose Serrano-Moreno
Biology
José received his undergraduate degree in his native Venezuela and his Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve. His academic interests are membrane transport mechanisms. He enjoys watching artsy films, reading Latin American & English literature, listening to eclectic music, and bothering his wonderful wife and kids with his odd views. His legendary lack of coordination precludes him from participating in outdoor activities but he is a passionate follower of both baseball and politics.

Aaron H. Sheerin
Psychology
Prior to being a Senior Fellow in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington, Aaron completed his dissertation at the University of Saskatchewan, up in bitterly cold middle-Canada. Being Canadian, he likes curling and hockey, drinking wine, and fine German automobiles.

Paul Spiegel
Chemistry
Paul is a Pacific Northwest native who grew up in Forest Grove, Oregon. He attended Oregon State University for undergraduate studies and the University of Washington for his doctorate. His research interests include RNA and protein biochemistry, and the molecular origins of life. You'll often find him frolicking in the woods, shredding down slopes, or kicking around a soccer ball.
