Safe and Warm: Remember to close classroom windows

As "open-window season" comes into full swing, we would like to remind people to close windows when leaving classrooms and other spaces on campus. Windows that are left open present both security and sustainability challenges.

When temperatures plunge as the sun goes down or the wind picks up, the heating system kicks in and generates wasted energy and carbon emissions that simply fly out the window. As Western strives to meet ambitious climate goals, the contributions of all of us are key for success.

LKWD 101: Intro to Lakewood - SPRING 2024

Curious about all that Lakewood has to offer students both on and off the water? Attending this FREE Saturday afternoon info session is a great way to find out! A Boathouse Instructor will give students a tour of the facility, provide information on our lessons, and run an onshore safety orientation on how to use the paddling equipment. Based on boat availability and weather, the instructor will then run a supervised paddling excursion for any students that wish to participate.

No prior sailing or water experience required!
