Sinfonia
Coral Marchant, Sinfonia Director, is a graduate of Western's Music Department and maintains a thriving cello teaching studio in Bellingham. A fine cellist, she performs with the Whatcom Symphony, the Whatcom Chorale Sinfonia and as a freelance artist. Coral is also on the faculty of Western's Chamber Days summer chamber music camp.

Why play in a youth Sinfonia?
The Sinfonia is designed for string, wind and percussion players with one to two years of experience and is designed to provide an opportunity for young musicians to increase their confidence with sight reading and chamber music. The Sinfonia creates a setting that provides individual and sectional coaching under the guidance of Coral Marchant and WWU music interns. Sinfonia members will grow in their musicianship with a view to moving up to the higher levels (Philharmonia and Symphony) in future years.
