Downing-Montague Scholarship for Philosophy, Healthcare and Technology
The Downing-Montague Scholarship for Philosophy, Healthcare and Technology is to be awarded to a student who shows promise and interest at the junctures of philosophy and healthcare (e.g., bioethics or philosophy of science with a focus on healthcare), or philosophy and technology (technology ethics, automated reasoning systems) or ideally philosophy, healthcare, and technology (e.g., automated reasoning systems in healthcare, bioethics with a focus on the implications of technology in healthcare). The amount of the award is $1,500. A call for applications is distributed each spring.

Paul J. and Rebecca Ann Olscamp Philosophy Scholarship
The Paul J. and Rebecca Ann Olscamp Philosophy Scholarship was established in 1998 for students of high academic merit who are majoring in philosophy. Dr. Olscamp was president of Western Washington University from 1975 to 1982 and named distinguished service professor. His daughter, Rebecca Ann, graduated cum laude with a B.A. in 1982 and a M.B.A. in 1984. The amount of the award is $1,000. Eligibility is restricted to continuing undergraduate students of junior or senior status who are enrolled full-time (12 credits or more) for each quarter of the academic year in which the scholarship is awarded. Applicants must be declared philosophy majors at the time of application. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better in philosophy courses. A call for applications is distributed each spring.

Sentinel Law Group Scholarship
The Sentinel Law Group Scholarship was established in 2011 by alumnus James D. Pirtle, Esq. to support undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a law career. The amount of the award is $1,500. Preference is given to seniors who have financial need and are committed to studying law after graduation. Applicants must be declared majors in philosophy or politics/philosophy/economics at the time of application. A call for applications is distributed each spring.

Departmental Tuition Waiver Scholarship
The philosophy department awards a tuition waiver scholarship each year. Applicants must be full-time (12 credits or more) for each quarter of the academic year in which the scholarship is awarded. The amount of the award is $1,800. A call for applications is distributed each spring.
