Policy Review and Approval Groups
Two standing committees must review and approve new or revised policies that affect the entire Western Washington University community:
- The President's Cabinet (PC)
- Technical Review Committee (TRC)

President's Cabinet (PC)
The President's Cabinet (PC) is a committee appointed by the President comprised of:
- General Counsel
- Vice Presidents
- Vice Provost for Equal Opportunity and Employment Diversity
- Associate VP for University Relations and Director of Legislative Relations
- President's Staff
- Special Assistant for Diversity
- Exec Director, University Planning and Budgeting
- Director of Communications
- Faculty Associate to the President and Provost
- Presidents of governance groups
- Classified Staff Representative
The PC is responsible for:
- Reviewing and approving the Policy Impact Statement prior to policy development or amendment.
- Recommending policy approval to the President.

Technical Review Committee (TRC)
The Technical Review Committee (TRC) is a committee appointed by the President comprised of individuals from:
- Human resources
- Internal controls
- Internal audit
- Legal services
- Risk management
- Representative(s) designated by responsible officers to participate in review of a policy under their purview.
The TRC is responsible for:
- Reviewing draft policies for legal compliance and form to promote operational efficiencies and reduce institutional risks.
