Direct Exchange - Study Abroad
This page is currently being updated.
The Department of Political Science at Western Washington University has recently set up a direct exchange agreement with the Institute of Political Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. You can watch a short video clip about the University Duisburg-Essen on their website.
Direct Exchanges provide an affordable way for Western students to study abroad. Generally, students will pay In-State tuition and mandatory fees through their WWU student account which will cover the cost of one incoming direct exchange student.
To participate in a direct exchange program you must meet the following requirements:
- Matriculated WWU student
- Minimum 2.5 GPA (possibly even higher)
- At least 30 credits completed at WWU by the
start of the exchange
If you are participating in a direct exchange program, you must complete the appropriate International Programs & Exchanges Application, as well as the specific Direct Exchange Supplemental Application for your exchange. These are available through International Programs and Exchanges on their 'Applications' webpage and must be submitted to the IPE office in Miller Hall 208 prior to the deadlines.
- Deadline for Fall Quarter & Year-Long Exchanges - March 1st
- Deadline for Winter & Spring Exchanges - June 1st
