April 20, 2009 -- Annual Commute Trip Reduction Survey
Dear Colleagues,
Western`s Commute Trip Reduction (CTR) program* was implemented in 1997 in response to a state law. The law was designed to reduce the environmental damage, traffic congestion and fuel consumption associated with single occupancy vehicles. Western supports this law by providing a program that assists employees in voluntarily reducing the number of individual trips taken and the number of miles driven alone. As WWU plans for campus sustainability, gathering information about transportation habits and needs becomes even more important.
On April 27th you will receive a survey asking you to describe your daily commute for the week of April 20-24. Our target is a minimum return rate of 70% of all surveys. Your participation in this survey helps us to share and demonstrate Western's success in sustainable transportation.
Let`s set a goal of 100% participation for Western!
Bruce
