Faculty Excellence in Teaching Awards

Two Excellence in Teaching awards have been made possible by the Western Washington University Foundation.  Each award includes a $1,000 check.   (Please note:  for each $1,000 check, the University also contributes approximately $440 for tax related deductibles plus $110 for benefits for a total expenditure of approximately $1,550 per award). 

The award recipients will be recognized at a reception hosted by the Provost and Faculty Senate during spring quarter.

Students, alumni, faculty and staff members are encouraged to nominate faculty members for the Excellence in Teaching Awards by December 1, 2017.

Peter J. Elich Excellence in Teaching Award

A faculty member from either the College of Humanities and Social Sciences or the College of Science and Engineering will be chosen to receive the Peter J. Elich Excellence in Teaching Award.

Excellence in Teaching Award

A faculty member from one of the other Colleges: 

  • Business and Economics
  • Fairhaven College of Interdisciplinary Studies
  • Fine and Performing Arts, Huxley College of the Environment
  • Woodring College of Education

will be chosen to receive the other Excellence in Teaching Award
