The Department of Psychology at Western Washington University offers programs of study that provide a solid foundation in the concepts and methods of psychology, as well as courses and programs for students in many of the more specialized areas of this large and exciting field.

We offer undergraduate and graduate degrees. Graduate programs are offered in three areas: experimental (with optional concentration in measurement, evaluation, and statistical analyses), mental health counseling, and school counseling.

The Department of Psychology also includes the Center for Cross-Cultural Research and the Western Institute for Social Research, and participates in an Interdisciplinary Behavioral Neuroscience program.

Wait List Policy for the Department of Psychology

1. The Department of Psychology reserves the right to manage wait lists for Psychology courses and give priority to students who have applied to graduate that quarter and who must take the course to satisfy graduation requirements.
2. Students who are on the wait list for a course should not attend the first day of class for that course unless the course instructor notifies the student to attend.

Our Mission Statement and Outcomes Assessment Plan present the main goals and objectives of our program.

Please come by the Psychology Department office (Academic Instruction Center 434) or call us at 360-650-3515 if you have any questions or require additional information.
