FAQs for Spring 2018 Commencement

June 15 and 16, 2018 in the Carver Academic Building

How do I get extra tickets?

Each student will receive 5 tickets. These tickets are used for seating in the Carver Academic Building. We have a set number of seats in our venue and ticket numbers are based on this capacity limitation.

In the event of extra tickets, we do not sell tickets for commencement. Rather, we will distribute an additional (1 ticket) per graduate at Graduation Celebration (June 13 & 14 | 12pm-3pm | Carver Gym A) and at the ticket booth, 75 minutes before each ceremony on a first come, first served basis. Comfortable, air conditioned seating is also available in the SMATE building - just footsteps away from Carver - where commencement will be viewed on large screens via a live feed and does not require a ticket.

Can I bring balloons and signs into the ceremony for my graduate?

Signs are a great way to show support for your graduate. However, we do ask that signs not be too large. A sign should not prohibit the view of other guests and should be comfortable to hold and set in front of you in the bleachers during the ceremony.

WWU has decided balloons will not be allowed in the gymnasium of Carver Academic Building. Please leave balloons in the car and feel free to bring other gifts for graduates. There will be flower and lei sales on site.
