Winter Commencement Checklist

You will need to turn in a degree application with a signed evaluation from your department to the Registrar's Office. The fee is $45 plus a $38 late fee as the deadline for returning the application has passed.
Make your Commencement Reservation so you can walk in the ceremony.
Avoid the late fee by making a reservation by Friday, February 8.
Bring photo ID to get your Tickets, Cap, and Gown on Graduation Celebration Day
Graduation Celebration is Thursday, March 21. 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm, location VU 565. Photo ID required for ticket pick up. Pick up your tickets, cap and gown, and to win WWU swag!
If you cannot attend the Graduation Celebration, you can pick up your tickets, cap, and gown an hour before your ceremony on Saturday. Your tickets will be at the Carver ticket booth (please provide ID) and your cap and gown will be in the line up area in SMATE. If you prefer, you can send someone to Graduation Celebration with a note signed by you saying he/she can pick up your tickets and apparel.

All guests seated in the Carver Academic Building require tickets regardless of age.
It is highly recommended that your guests arrive early as seating is first come, first seated. The doors will close during the procession at 9:45 am and will reopen after the procession is complete.
Guests with wheelchairs and mobility limitations have designated areas reserved but space is on a first come, first seated basis. SMATE is a comfortable alternative for guests not seated in Carver or for guests who prefer less crowded areas.

Family and friends not attending graduation can see you walk across the stage from their own living rooms.
Attend the ceremony on Saturday, March 23, 2019 in the Carver Academic Facility.
Go to the SMATE Building, just south of Carver, by 9:25 for the Line Up. This is where all graduates will need to be before the ceremony begins.
Bring memorabilia for the Memory Walk Box
If you would like to contribute, graduates usually deposit their student body cards or other memorabilia into a box which will be buried beneath the stone bearing their class year.
Check your mail for your diploma 6-8 weeks after graduation.
At commencement, you will receive a diploma cover. The Registrar’s Office will mail official diplomas 6-8 weeks following graduation.
