Veterans Services: The Post 9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33)
Includes veterans who served at least 90 days of active duty service after September 10, 2001 and you are still on active duty or were honorably discharged. Veterans who were honorably discharged from active duty with a service connected disability and served more than 30 days of consecutive service on or after 9/11.
Chapter 33 benefits can include payment of tuition and fees, a monthly housing allowance, a stipend for books and supplies, college fund (‘kicker’) payments, a rural benefit payment, and yellow ribbon program benefit. Chapter 33 differs from other educational chapters in that each type of payment is issued separately, with some payments made directly to the school and others directly to the student.
