Veterans Services: The Post 9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33)
The Post 9-11 GI Bill (Chapter 33) provides eligible veterans and their dependents a housing allowance and pays for tuition costs while they are enrolled in an accredited program. The housing allowance is equal to the BAH (E-5 with dependents) for the zip code of the school’s main campus. Students attending WWU receive $1,365 per full month of enrollment. Tuition costs are paid directly to the school. Chapter 33 also provides $1,000 per year for a books and supplies.
Students should apply for benefits at least three months before they plan to start school. Students who have confirmed enrollment at WWU should contact the Veterans Services Office as soon as they receive a Letter of Eligibility form the VA.
