09/28/09: RE Sources is looking for a undergrad or graduate student to fill our Climate Change Outreach work study position for the entire school year. The person will be responsible for adapting the be cool climate change campaign (www.ImCool.info) for the Whatcom County faith community. They will also be responsible for recruiting churches, synagogues, etc. as well as program implementation. The student must be a motivated, intelligent, creative, efficient and personable person with a general knowledge of climate change and sustainability issues. Graphics skills would also be a plus, although not totally necessary. The job will require 8-10 hours a week and pays $15 an hour - the student needs to be qualified for WWU work study. - Perform Internet-based research of disaster reduction related publication and information sources;
- Perform Internet-based research on specific countries, themes and hazards in order to update and extend the coverage of the PreventionWeb country and region, thematic and hazard background sections;
- Assist in coordinating and editing interviews with experts working in disaster risk reduction;
- Undertake quality control of information as necessary, including analysis of gaps;
- Support, and participate to, other information-related tasks.

/24/2009: WashPIRG The student PIRGs are independent state-based student organizations that work to solve public interest problems related to the environment, consumer protection, and government reform. The Student PIRGs, and specifically WashPIRG, are now accepting internship applications for Fall 2009. Interns earn course credit to make a difference on issues that matter most to them, by educating their campus, working with the media and educating decision makers.
