Center for Instructional Innovation
Several student technology assistants work at the Center for Instructional Innovation in a team-based environment with faculty members and other students. Much of their work focuses on providing deep technological support to instructors involved in the First-year Interest Group Program. This involves using technology to help faculty transform the curriculum in several large courses that will be taught during the Fall Quarter. Past projects include developing a 10-minute music video to supplement a curriculum, an online note-construction portal website, a three-dimensional medieval village program, and a multitude of instructor websites that provide access to course materials. While the student technology assistants constantly learn new technologies in the development of projects, they also become involved in the teaching and learning research and come to value the pedagogical influence their projects have on students in these courses.
