Nominations for 2018 Scholars Week Keynote Speaker
The Scholars Week Organizing Committee invites nominations for the 2018 Scholars Week Keynote Speaker for the annual banquet held on Wednesday evening of Scholars Week (May 14 - May 18, 2018). The 2018 Scholars Week Keynote Speaker will be selected from the academic areas of Social Science and Business and Economics. Scholars Week Keynote Speakers come from broad academic areas according to the following rotating schedule:
- Natural and Applied Sciences (2017)
- Social Sciences and Business/Economics (2018)
- Open to Any Discipline (2019)
- Arts and Humanities (2020)
- Natural and Applied Sciences (2021)
- Social Sciences and Business/Economics (2022)
- Open to Any Discipline (2023)
Nominations may be from any discipline within the assigned area. Whatever the specialty, the nominee should be engaged in scholarly and/or creative activity. Speakers also frequently make themselves available for other activities (e.g. meetings with students, additional seminars, etc.) during Scholars Week, but such events are arranged with the speaker by the nominating faculty or department.
Keynote Speaker selection criteria include: potential to be an engaging speaker, ability to connect with a broad and diverse audience, and career accomplishments.
