What is a Student Account?
![]()
Your student account is used to manage the billing and payment of student tuition, fees, on-campus housing and certain other campus charges. Every student has a student account. Most financial aid money is directly credited to your student account.
Each time you register, cancel or add courses a charge or credit is posted to your account. This account reflects your total charges for tuition, fees and other University charges. You can view your account transactions by date or by term.
Your student account will NOT include bookstore charges, parking fees or library fines.

Late Payment and Fees
![]()
A $40 late fee and 1% interest charge may be assessed monthly on all past due charges.
Failure to pay a past due account balance may result in withholding registration privileges, conferring of the degree or issuing transcripts.
Do NOT wait for an email or your Statement of Account, check your account status regularly, most importantly when making changes to your schedule, housing room change, meal plans and when using other services on campus that may result in a charge to your account.
You are responsible for paying the entire amount of tuition, fees and housing on time. Remember the best way to view the most current account information is by accessing your account on Web4U
The University can often help a student who has a short-term cash flow problem by issuing an emergency loan to cover a portion of their account balance. For more information, contact Student Financial Resources, Old Main 265, (360)650-3470.
What are Emergency Loans?
WWU offers two types of emergency loans to assist students with short term cash needs: a Signature Loan for a maximum of $350 that is due in 30 days or an Institutional Loan for a maximum of $600 that is due in 90 days. Both loans require your parent's address and two references with complete addresses and phone numbers. References cannot include parents, room mates, spouse or anyone affiliated with Western. You must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible for either loan.
The following are deadlines to avoid late and interest fees:
