For this issue, we asked Ann Kastberg of Castle Rock, "Are you 'friends' with your student on social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace?"

Kastberg: "Yes, I am a friend on both my son's and daughter's MySpace. I'm not on MySpace much. In fact I haven't been there in months. My kids are my only 'friends.' I liked seeing what they posted and finding something out about their friends. My son migrated to Facebook when it was limited to students. He says that it's open to the public now, and I am welcome to visit him there; he's there every day. So I may just get myself a Facebook account now."
