Join your student on campus for Showtime Family Weekend

From golf tournaments and bird watching cruises to low-rider shows and music festivals, Showtime Family Weekend May 15 to 17 offers an opportunity for families to reconnect with their Western students and explore what the WWU campus and Bellingham have to offer.

All events are open to students, families and community members. Here’s a sample of what’s in store:

• Legends of Hawaii, the Hui ‘O Hawaii club’s annual Spring Luau, with great food, island music and hula performances will be May 16.
• Nature cruise: See Bellingham Bay’s abundant wildlife on a catered cruise aboard the Snowgoose May 16 and 17.
• Family Golf Tournament: Play with the family on a par 72, Scottish-style links course near campus May 16.

• Low-rider show: “Ridin’ Low in the 3-6-0” will be in Red Square beginning at noon on May 17. Sponsored by MEChA.
• Plays and performances all weekend, including “9 Parts of Desire,” “Ernestine Shuswap Gets her Trout” and the Ford Hill Piano Scholarship Recital.
• Gaze at the stars in Washington state’s first fully digital planetarium theatre May 15 and 16.
