Thank you for your wonderful support
By WWU President Emerita Karen W. Morse
Dear Parents and Families,
Western Washington University parents make a difference in so many ways.
You provide crucial support to your students, whether financially, emotionally or as a sounding board for future plans.
At Western, we recognize the importance of mentoring students to achieve their absolute best in their academic pursuits and to prepare them to become capable citizens and leaders of our communities. This commitment to the shared excellence of students and faculty working closely together is a defining characteristic of Western.
This year, families contributed $215,000 during the Parent Annual Giving Campaign, providing critical revenue for important programs such as the Career Services Center and the emerging Leadership Advantage Program. Colleges, academic programs, the arts, scholarships, athletics, student clubs and multicultural programs are also enhanced by your generous donations.
I wish to thank our many donors, whose support is a critical part of making possible Western’s tradition of collaborative excellence.
I retired Sept. 1 after 15 years as Western’s president. It has been an honor and privilege to meet with many of you through the years, and to learn of your students’ accomplishments. These achievements could not have been possible without your involvement in the lives of your children. I thank you, and wish you and your student the very best for the future.
Sincerely,
Karen W. Morse
President
