Help from families comes in all forms
There are many ways families can support Western. Here are a few you may not have thought of:
- Volunteer with academic departments. Speak to a class about your career, mentor a student or just answer questions. Here is a list of colleges and academic departments at WWU.
- Share job openings and internships with the Career Services Center. The listings are free on the center’s Web site and you’ll help new WWU grads start their careers. See the center's page for employers.
- Network with other parents through Parent Connection. You could volunteer at a speaker’s panel during orientation or host an event for other WWU families in your area. Learn more here.
- Donate. The WWU Parents Fund supports critical student services that aren’t covered by tuition, such as the Career Services Center. Learn more at the WWU Foundation.
Kim Oesterling, family outreach manager, can tell you more about volunteering at Western: Kim.Oesterling@wwu.edu or (360) 650-3846.
