Climate-Neutral Western
Climate-Neutral Western
Former WWU President Karen Morse's signature in January of 2007 on the President's Climate Commitment set WWU on a path to climate-neutrality. In 2007, the WWU Office of Sustainability completed WWU's first Greenhouse Gas Inventory, defining the major sources and levels of greenhouse gas emissions. In late 2008 and 2009, the Office of Sustainability, with support of Facilities Management began creation of the WWU Climate Action Plan; a roadmap to climate neutrality. and the Sustainability Committee will be conducting a greenhouse gas inventory and developing a climate-neutral action plan for the university. WWU is one of the first fifty schools nationally to take on this important task.
Events
Please join the Office of Sustainability and members of the campus community in a conversation regarding WWU's draft Climate Action Plan (CAP). The CAP outlines a strategy to prevent and mitigate the release of greenhouse gasses from WWU to bring the campus to climate neutrality. We need your input to make it work! Come and help WWU in Reaching Zero. Open to all.
