What We're Doing
Residents’ Resource Awareness Program (ResRAP)
Led by Office of Sustainability staff and residence halls’ Eco-Reps, the foremost goal of ResRAP is to involve residents in creating a sustainable living on campus. Small everyday actions have a collective, noticeable impact and serve as examples to other members of campus.

Eco Reps
Eco Reps are on-campus residents who work as sustainability advocates in their residence halls. They promote sustainability in a number of different ways, including living by example. Eco Reps host events in their halls to encourage sustainability through education, outreach, and community involvement. To become an Eco Rep, please contact Rachel Worthy, ResRAP Coordinator at ResRAP@wwu.edu or (360) 650-2011.

Go For The Green: Total Waste Reduction Challenge
The Go For The Green: Total Waste Reduction Challenge is a campus-wide competition between residence halls which focuses on four different aspects of total waste reduction. Residents make small changes in their lifestyles that reflect sustainable living practices. This in turn results in huge reductions of waste production on campus and huge monetary savings for the university.

Composting
ResRAP is constantly working to increase composting facilities on campus. Composting in residence halls is currently only available in the Birnam Wood Apartments as part of a new and improved pilot program. Residential composting will be implemented in halls across campus pending the success of this year’s program in Birnam Wood. Read more about composting in Birnam Wood in our October 2009 Newsletter!
