Residence Hall Sustainability Program: ResRAP

The OS is pleased to announce the first ever Residents' Resource Awareness Program position (ResRAP). Led by OS staff and the hall council's Eco-Reps, the program's foremost goal is to involve residents in creating a sustainable living on campus. Decisions they make about their everyday actions have a collective, noticeable impact and serve as examples to other members of campus.

Energy Use Competition
Over the 2008 Winter Quarter, 2431 residents in those 8 halls reduced their energy use an average of 12.5% from previous years. The challenge was such a success that we will hold it again in 2009 and be expanding it to a Total Waste Reduction Challenge: Energy, Water and Consumption.

Eco-Reps

Be part of a leadership position with other dedicated residents. During the 2007-08 school year, EcoReps in Buchanan Towers, Birnam Wood, Fairhaven, Higginson, Kappa, and Mathes held events and encouraged efficient use of resources through signage, conversations with hall mates, and everyday actions.
