Residence Hall Sustainability Program: ResRAP
The OS is pleased to announce the first ever Residents' Resource Awareness Program position (ResRAP). Led by OS staff and the hall council's Eco-Reps, the program's foremost goal is to involve residents in creating a sustainable living on campus. Decisions they make about their everyday actions have a collective, noticeable impact and serve as examples to other members of campus.
Energy Use Competition
Over the 2008 Winter Quarter, 2431 residents in those 8 halls reduced their energy
use an average of 12.5% from previous years. The challenge was such a success that
we will hold it again in 2009 and be expanding it to a Total Waste Reduction
Challenge: Energy, Water and Consumption.
Eco-Reps
Be part of a leadership position with other dedicated residents. During the 2007-08
school year, EcoReps in Buchanan Towers, Birnam Wood, Fairhaven, Higginson, Kappa,
and Mathes held events and encouraged efficient use of resources through signage,
conversations with hall mates, and everyday actions. Click here
