The Green Professional's Conference Announces Keynote Speaker Ron Pernick
Co-founder and Principal, Clean Edge, Inc. and co-author of The Clean
Tech Revolution

Ron Pernick is co-founder and principal of Clean Edge, Inc. and
co-author of The Clean Tech Revolution. He is an accomplished market
research, publishing, and business entrepreneur with more than two
decades of high-tech experience. At Clean Edge he has co-authored more
than a dozen reports on emerging clean technologies and has worked with
a range of clients including multinationals, start-ups, government
agencies, and investors. Ron oversees the company's annual co-production
of the Clean-Tech Investor Summit, a gathering of leading clean-tech
investors and businesses, and the company's NASDAQ® Clean Edge® US
Index, an index which tracks US-listed clean-energy companies. Prior to
founding Clean Edge, he ran his own consulting practice and helped build
the brands of such Internet pioneers as Internet In A Box, Global
Network Navigator (GNN), Preview Travel (which later merged with
Travelocity), The WELL, and Yahoo! Ron is also adjunct faculty at
Portland State University where he teaches a course on clean-tech
markets, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Ron will be speaking at the Green Professional's Conference closing
plenary session on June 2, 2008. Immediately following his
presentation, Ron will be on hand to answer questions and sign copies of
his latest book at the conference networking reception in the exhibit
hall.

CFP: 2nd Int. Conference in Higher Education For Sustainable Dev't

July 5 - 7, 2007;
Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi, Mexico

The Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and the University of Luneburg, Germany, supported by the Mexican and German Commissions for UNESCO, and by the Mexican Ministry of Public Education are inviting participation in the Second International Conference on Higher Education for Sustainable Development, entitled "World in Transition ? Sustainability Perspectives for Higher Education." The conference is a follow-up to a first international conference in September 2005, which brought together more than 150 experts on Higher Education for Sustainable Development (HESD) in Luneburg, Germany. The conference is intended to provide platform for continued dialogue and broadening of the HESD network. Organizers are seeking presentation proposals on: the role of universities in society, impacts of teaching and learning methods, institutional culture and organizational/governance structures, gender issues, mainstreaming sustainability, university and community linkages, innovative learning and teaching experiences. Abstracts are due by March 15, 2007.

Across the Curriculum Leadership workshops are for faculty leaders of all disciplines who wish to develop curriculum change programs around sustainability on their campuses. Through an intensive two days of presentations, exercises, discussions, reflection, and planning, participants will become familiar with the philosophy of change in higher education developed through the Ponderosa Project at Northern Arizona University and adapted at Emory in the Piedmont Project. Participants will also experience of range of workshop strategies, hear local experts, enjoy outdoor place-based activities, and dialogue with faculty from around the country as they gain help in adapting this model to their own campus. The workshop leaders, Peggy Barlett and Geoffrey Chase, are editors of Sustainability on Campus: Stories and Strategies for Change and have helped more than 200 faculty revise courses in a wide array of disciplines. Workshop tuition is $350 for AASHE members and $390 for non-members. Applications to participate are due by May 18, 2007.
