"Prior to my wife starting to work at WWU, I took the bus every day for 15 years. When Nina started working at Western nearly twelve years ago, we still had kids at home and many times would need to run errands on our way home. This required a vehicle on campus and thus we started carpooling. We've been carpooling together ever since.
Carpooling has reduced our commuting costs. We have our car and a pickup; however, our kids use the pickup more than we do ... and they are married and living in their own homes."
