Why am I being asked to take this survey?
WWU is one of nearly 800 employers, employing more than 500,000 employees at more than 1000 worksites, who are working to meet the goals of the CTR Law. The CTR Law encourages people to consider commute alternatives to driving alone to work, such as riding the bus or train, ridesharing, bicycling or walking, or telecommuting to reduce traffic congestion. The survey is the only way to measure our progress towards meeting CTR goals. Western is committed to the spirit and goals of the CTR Law to relieve traffic congestion, decrease energy consumption and reduce air pollution. Participation in the survey helps us evaluate the effectiveness of our transportation program.
What if I do not have internet access at work?
A paper survey is available upon request. Most employees who do not have internet access at work will receive a paper survey by campus mail. Contact Sustainable Transportation if you would like a paper survey.
Is the survey available in other languages?
The paper survey is available in English and a number of other languages. Contact Sustainable Transportation if you would like a paper survey in a language other than English.
Are my answers kept confidential?
The use of e-mail addresses is solely for the purpose of enabling WWU and its employees to use the electronic survey. No further use is made of the e-mail addresses. They are not made available to other parties for any other use. Once the Washington State Department of Transportation has received and processed the results for a survey, it deletes the e-mail addresses from the online survey system.
How are the coffee coupons funded?
The beverage coupons were made possible by a grant from the Washington State Department of Transportation's Trip Reduction Performance Program.
What if I work an alternative schedule or compressed workweek?
The survey includes "compressed workweek day off" as one of the options; simply mark that on the day you didn't work due to alternative schedule arrangement.
What if I work from home?
The survey includes "teleworked" as one of the options; simply mark that for any days you worked from home.
What if I drive to the park & ride and take the bus from there?
If you used more than one type of transportation, fill in the type used for the longest distance. The park and ride is about one mile from Western's main campus.
