Engaging Students In Academic and Personal Excellence
The Division of Enrollment and Student Services engages and challenges students in their pursuit of academic and personal excellence through outreach, support services, and co-curricular learning opportunities.
Welcome to Western and welcome to the Division of Enrollment and Student Services. First and foremost this division supports a diverse and talented student body in their pursuit of a quality undergraduate experience. This includes core support for essential functions in Admissions, Advising, Career Development, Registration, Campus Bookstore, Disability services, Veteran's Affairs, Financial Aid, University Residences, and New Student Services/Family Outreach. In addition this division enhances the educational experiences of students through co-curricular programming including Intercollegiate Athletics, Recreation, Prevention and Wellness Services, Health and Counseling Services and Student Activities, supported largely by an Associated Student leadership model in which students are at the heart of designing and supporting programs, clubs and organizations that both serve and develop outstanding leaders.
Western's student culture is defined by our tagline Active Minds, Changing Lives. Our students care deeply about one another and about the social and environmental aspects of the society in which we live. Our Code of Conduct emphasizes our campus climate where Academic Honesty, Respect and Caring and a commitment to the safety and well-being of others is at the center of our community standards. This includes our high level of commitment to diversity, healthy relationships devoid of sexual harassment or assault, and the invitation for our entire community to recognize signs of disrespect and accept responsibility for intervening through stating our values and referring and reporting of behaviors that do not support our campus culture where appropriate.
I invite you to explore this site to learn more about the division and the services our dedicated staff provide to support and engage Western students, about our assessment efforts and how we are using data to inform our decision making, and about Nakama – our annual professional development conference. Among other things, this site also includes Western’s annual Security and Fire Safety report, an overview of our Services and Activities Fee, information for obtaining a banquet permit, and links to institutional policies.
On behalf of our division, I want to thank you for visiting this site. I hope it will assist you with a better understanding of the many ways in which we engage with students at Western and help each one to reach their highest potential.
Eileen V. Coughlin, Ed.D.
