The Vice Provost for Information Technology serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Western. The Vice Provost supervises these areas: 

• Academic Technology & User Services (ATUS)
• Administrative Computing Services (ADMCS)
• Technical Services
• Telecommunications Services
• Scientific Technical Services

The Vice Provost for Information Technology works with all areas of the university to coordinate technology planning and implementation.

Furthermore, the Vice Provost initiates programs that maintain Western's top ranking in technological applications and in the use of emerging technologies.
