Western Washington University
COLD BEVERAGE CONTRACT
Contract Background
In 1998, the University formed a Cold Beverage Task Force to consider a long-term contract for cold beverages on campus that would increase revenues to the campus. The Task Force solicited bids and entered into a 10-year contract with Walton Beverage, securing a new source of funding targeted to one-time programs and projects such as:
- Student Facilities (e.g. Recreation Center Feasibility Study)
- Lectures or Other Academic Enrichment Programs
- Bicycle Parking / Transportation Enhancements
- Special Projects ( e.g. outdoor seating, bookstore consultant)
- Scholarships
Programs & Projects Funded
A Cold Beverage Contract Student Committee (with student, faculty and staff representation) carefully considers priorities and makes recommendations for one-time funding to the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Services. Over $900,000 has been allocated to date. Click here for a list of projects funded and in process.
