Day 33 of the 2014 Legislative Session
The House and Senate are busy this week considering final passage of bills. They have until February 18th to pass House bills out of the House, and Senate bills out of the Senate, before those bills head to the other chamber for consideration by policy and fiscal committees.
On Tuesday, February 11th, WWU Dean of Students Ted Pratt travelled to Olympia to take part in a panel regarding campus mental health. See Ted Pratt's presentation to the House Higher Education Committee.
On Thursday, February 13th, the Washington State Senate recognizing Eastern Washington University President Dr. Rodolfo Arévalo for his extraordinary service. He will be retiring at the conclusion of the school year. Read the resolution honoring Dr. Arévalo.
The state revenue forecast is set to be released next week by the Economic and Revenue Forecast Council. Generally, we expect to see budget proposals from the legislature following the forecast. The legislature is set to adjourn on March 13th, the final day of the regular 2014 Legislative Session.
