About Ultimate

Ultimate Frisbee is a fast-paced game which combines many aspects of sports like soccer and football into one super sport. Two teams of seven players each compete with one plastic disc on a field similar to football. The point of the game is to catch the disc in the opponent's end zone. This is accomplished by passing back and forth between teammates, and working the disc down the field. If the disc is dropped, possession turns to the opposing team. Quick transition between offense and defense is required in ultimate. Most importantly, Ultimate Frisbee is a self-officiating sport, meaning that all calls are made by the players. This relies on "Spirit of the Game," a tradition in ultimate which values sportsmanship and encourages fair, honest, responsible play.
