The most visible public works project on campus continues to be the Multicultural Center renovation project at the Viking Union/Bookstore complex. Construction began in December 2017 and is scheduled to be complete next summer. Check out the construction progress viewed from the webcam on Wilson Library and watch for periodic construction updates via Western Today as this long awaited project evolves into a welcoming space for the entire campus community.

To prepare for the relocation of the Disability Access Center (formerly known as disAbility Resources) and Veteran Services from Old Main into Wilson Library (PW719), the Library Map Collection is moving from the southwest corner on the first floor into the east wing of the library on the second floor during fall quarter. The vacated space is now being renovated for a more accessible and visible location for the Disability Access Center and Veteran Services (scheduled to open during spring quarter 2019). The staging area for this project is just south of the work site and along High Street but access to the Library Presentation Room will remain open. Please be attentive as you negotiate these construction areas and follow detour signs.

Other projects scheduled for fall/winter include lab upgrades in Carver, electronic safety and security upgrades in Edens North and numerous electrical and access control upgrades across campus. Watch for construction notices via email and Western Today for possible impacts to your daily routine.
