The Office of Facilities Development and Capital Budget was established by consolidating Capital Planning and Development, Facilities Design and Construction Administration and the Capital Budget Office.

In collaboration with Facilities Management, the Office of Facilities Development and Capital Budget provides leadership in planning, developing, and budgeting for high value, quality, cost-effective facilities and grounds. We support the mission and strategic vision of Western, embrace our partnership with our community and reinforce our stewardship of the environment.



2013-2015 CAPITAL PLANNING

In March the Vice Presidents began developing their ten year and minor works recommendations to the President. A presentation on the Capital Program will be given to the Board of Trustees at their April 2012 meeting with action scheduled on the 2013-2023 ten year capital plan scheduled for their June meeting.

2013-2015 Minor Works

The 2013-2015 minor works process began in early October 2011. Individuals submitted requests to their supervisors; the supervisors submitted those requests to their Planning Unit Leaders. The planning unit leaders made their recommendations to their vice presidents and the vice presidents ranked and submitted their minor works requests to the Office of Facilities Development and Capital Budget. The office of Facilities Development and Capital Budget provided cost estimates for the minor works projects. The UPRC then met and discussed these projects. The UPRC ranked the programmatic projects and that list was forwarded to the Vice Presidents who determined how much funding the university should request for minor works in the 2013-15 Capital Request and 2013-2023 Capital Plan. The recommended requests are ranked and available below:

UPRC Meetings

The University will hold a meeting with UPRC to discuss the Vice Presidents recommended 2013-2015 Capital Request and 2013-2023 Capital Plan:
