It depends. Generally, we recommend undergraduates have a one page resume. For Masters's students 1-2 pages is acceptable. Longer resumes may be relevant if you are applying to research positions or within the performing arts. Talk with an Career Counselor if you are unsure.
The golden rule when it comes to resumes is to always tailor your document to match the position. So, if you are applying to positions with different functions or in different industries, you should tailor your resume to best match your skills to those prioritized by the position. For example, a management role may value transferable skills such as leadership and analytical skills, while a research position may emphasize your technical knowledge and research experience. Your resume should always be organized to best market your background and skills, to the areas of the position.
