Laid Back or Laid Up?

Working hard to get the job done is something we all believe in. Unfortunately when we feel rushed and get in a hurry we run a greater risk of injury. Soon we will be in one of our busy times of the year.

How to avoid injury?

• First, plan ahead for those times when there’s extra work to be done. Careful preparation can help balance the work load.

• Don’t take short cuts. Taking the time to get the right equipment or extra help can mean the difference between getting the job done and getting hurt.

• Remember to pace yourself and take breaks. Extra effort is always appreciated. Extra effort to the point of injury, though, means effort wasted and more work for others.

With some thought and care this year we can work hard, get our jobs done, and still avoid those additional injuries.
