What does the Senate Library Committee do? The SLC advises and makes recommendations to the Dean of the Libraries and serves as liaison between the faculty and the Dean of Libraries. This advice concerns policies and procedures relating to the library’s development and maintenance of collections, services, facilities and budget so that faculty, students, and staff can effectively and efficiently use the library. The SLC provides it minutes and periodic reports to the Faculty Senate.
How do faculty get to serve on the SLC? Faculty are appointed to the SLC from their college governing councils. These appointments are confirmed by the Faculty Senate in spring quarter.
