Dining Services

Academic Advising

The Academic Advising Center (AAC) is fully remote and available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays during fall quarter. Students can schedule appointments and drop-in advising is offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Contact the AAC at (360) 650-3850 or advising@wwu.edu; online advising resources are available anytime on the AAC website.

Seek advising quarterly: All students are encouraged to seek advising at least once a quarter. Students declared in a major or minor should contact their academic department and assigned adviser to track progress. The Academic Advising Center and Student Outreach Services are also resources to support academic planning and navigation of campus resources. 

  • Degree Works: Track your progress toward degree completion. Advisors can assist with understanding your unofficial degree evaluation. 
  • University Catalog: Western’s official source for majors, courses, academic policies and more.   
  • Advising Tools & Resources: Includes links to important online resources, including a GPA Calculator. 

Western Libraries

  • Access to Library Collections: All current WWU students can place online requests for materials from the Libraries' collections and choose either on-site pickup or mail delivery options. Western Libraries also offers 24/7 online access to online tutorials, course reserves, e-books, articles and databases, and other video resources. 

  • The Tutoring Center: Tutors and peer advisers are available during the Tutoring Center's regular hours to chat or Zoom with students in Math and Science GUR courses.

  • The Hacherl Research and Writing Studio: Provides support in research and writing - essay drafts, project components, scholarship applications, and resumes. Students can connect live to an online meeting, initiate a chat using "Ask Us," or submit a draft paper for email response.

Registrar’s Office

The Registrar’s Office staff continue to provide essential services by email and phone. Please email us at Registrar.Office@wwu.edu or call during business hours, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, 360-650-3432.

Academic Technology and User Services (ATUS)

Laptops are available for long-term loan. Access to software on campus can be reached through remote access. Haggard Hall 101 and 112 are open computer labs, Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Haggard Hall 153 is open the same hours for wi-fi use. More information regarding online learning tools and practices can be found at our Keep Learning site.

Associated Students Bookstore

The Western A.S. Bookstore staff continues to ship online orders for course materials, supplies, and apparel Monday-Friday.  It is recommended to order Fall course materials early to allow time for order processing and shipment. Please email us at asbookstore@wwu.edu with any questions.

Campus Recreation Services

E-Sports for intramurals, remote fitness classes/tutorials and other co-curricular recreational programming will be available throughout the academic quarter. Find out more at https://wp.wwu.edu/campusrec/.

Career Services Center

Our office doors in Old Main 280 may be closed but our entire team is set-up remotely and is ready to support our WWU Community!  One-on-one appointments, webinars, online presentations, pre-recorded presentations, virtual career related events, and drop-in advising all are available.

Counseling Center

The Counseling Center is open for remote telemental health services. We can be reached by phone at 360-650-3164 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and our after-hours crisis support is available at all other times by calling 360-650-3164 and pressing “1.” Students seeking services may call to arrange a time to talk to a counselor about support and resources.

Counseling, Health & Wellness Services

The Counseling Health and Wellness Services offers uninterrupted physical and psycho - social-emotional support services through the implementation of tele-mental health and tele-health visits, online group supports and events, and in-person consultations, as needed to all students at Western during Fall Quarter 2020. In-person appointments will require pre-screening.

Disability Access Center (DAC)

The DAC team is available remotely over phones, email and Zoom to meet with current and prospective students (and their families).  On-site exam proctoring will be available when scheduled in advance.

Services and Resources:

Financial Aid Office

Students and parents can phone or email the department to speak to an advisor from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or can request an appointment for a call back from a financial aid counselor. The website remains available for announcements, FAQs, informational videos, and serves the application for the institutional short-term loan program.

LGBTQ+ Western

LGBTQ+ provides virtual programming and individual support and connection to resources. Please reach out and connect!

New Student Services/Family Outreach

NSSFO facilitates new student access to, and resources for, quarterly Advising & Orientation programs; provides events and resources for parents/families; and supports connection and referral to student services and resource offices.

Office of Off Campus Living

Office of Student Life

The Office of Student Life can assist students with Dean withdrawals, leaves-of-absence for non-medical or COVID related emergencies, advice on university policies, procedures, and grievances, support while experiencing a crisis, and information on university resources.

Student Outreach Services 

Student Outreach Services serves first-generation, multicultural and non-traditional students and engages students in personalized academic coaching, peer mentoring and specialized programs using a global and multicultural focus to support student persistence and academic achievement.

Our professional academic support coordinators are ready to help you with choosing a major, registering for courses, completing graduation requirements, locating scholarships, setting goals, and beyond.

Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center shares a zoom meeting space with the Research Writing Studio where students can access all of our services including: Drop-in Tutoring, Study Skills Appointments, and Study Groups. Students can also collaborate (with or without a tutor) in group study breakout "rooms" within our zoom meeting space.

Veteran’s Services Office

The VSO hosts frequent Teams meetings to check-in on mental health and generall wellness of Western's community of veterans.
