About Guaranteed Admission at WWU
There are two pathways to guaranteed admission at Western Washington University for first-year students attending high school in Washington State.
The Western Guaranteed Admission is available to students attending high schools in Island, San Juan, Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom counties.
The Washington Guaranteed Admissions Program (WAGAP) is for students in participating high schools across Washington State.

Western Guaranteed Admission
Students graduating from high schools in Northwestern Washington are directly admitted to WWU if they meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Have a 2.75 GPA or higher
- Complete standard WA state high school graduation requirements
- Attend a high school in:
- Island County
- San Juan County
- Snohomish County
- Skagit County
- Whatcom County

Guaranteed Admission letters will be sent to eligible high school seniors in December 2025. Sign up now to be the first to receive updates.
Washington Guaranteed Admissions Program (WAGAP)
Students graduating from a participating WAGAP school district are directly admitted to WWU if they meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Have a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Complete the College Academic Distribution Requirements (CADRs) by the time they graduate high school
- Attend a WAGAP partner school

We welcome applications from students attending schools that are not part of the guaranteed admission programming.
The Washington College Grant Can Cover Your Tuition
