Archeoastronomy
The study of the ancient astronomical knowlege of tribal, aboriginal, or extinct cultures. The areas of examination range from story-telling, to symbolic paintings, to megalithic monuments like stonehenge. For many of these cultures the science of astronomy is combined with mysticism and spirituality. Archeoastronomers use their discoveries to construct estimates of their subject's worldview.
