Orientation Programs


Orientation programs are an opportunity for new students to launch their WWU career by learning and understanding university processes, advising and class registration. If students miss an orientation program, they are to contact the Academic Advising Center to schedule an appointment with an advisor.


Summerstart: Two day orientation program designed for incoming freshmen students that includes a Family Orientation portion.

Transitions: One day orientation for transfer students that includes a Family Orientation portion.


Off-Quarter Orientations

  • Fall Orientation: Half-day orientation for new first-year students who did not attend Summerstart. Condensed version of Summerstart that includes campus orientation, academic advising and class registration.
  • Winter, Spring and Summer Orientations: One day orientation for all freshmen, transfer and post baccalaureate students.
