Mathematics at Western

The Department of Mathematics at Western Washington University has 30 full-time faculty with widespread interests across applied and pure mathematics and math education. Besides our primary focus on undergraduate instruction we offer a Masters program with about 20 students.

In addition to B.A. and B.S. majors in mathematics, we offer degrees in applied mathematics and mathematics education. Combined majors are offered in biology and mathematics, chemistry and mathematics, computer science and mathematics, economics and mathematics, and physics and mathematics. The department also offers a Master of Science degree which prepares students for doctoral programs or future employment, especially as college math teachers.
