Hazardous Waste

Every WWU faculty or staff generating of hazardous waste needs to complete training to comply with federal and state regulation.  Students engaging in independent research which creates their own, specific waste streams need to comply as well.  Students need to contact their instructor to determine the appropriate method of training.

Chemical wastes or chemicals that are surplus or no longer wanted may be disposed of through the Environmental Health and Safety office. Fill out a Hazardous Waste/Surplus Chemical Collection Request Form and return it to the Environmental Health and Safety office by campus mail (MS: 9070) or Fax (650-6514). Contact EHS at x3064 for information on training and waste disposal.
