Resource Materials from the EO Office
The following materials offer helpful information for individuals and offices responsible for university publications, search committees, and the Western community more broadly.
A webpage regarding Title IX, Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault, as well as posters, flyers and wallet cards inform summer program participants, students and employees of their Title IX rights and reporting options. Flyers also provide information for summer program participants who are concerned about bullying or harassment. Contact the EO Office if you would like posters, flyers or wallet cards for your program, office or residence hall.
Guidelines for Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Statements in University Publications provide campus offices and departments that create brochures, newsletters, magazines, event posters and other publications with guidance to comply with federal laws requiring notices of non-discrimination in publications made available to students, applicants, employees, program participants and the public.
State and Federal laws prohibit pre-employment inquiries regarding certain aspects of job applicants’ identities. The Pre-Employment Inquiry Guide describes the kinds of questions that may not be asked about job applicants, including during interviews and reference checks.
Designed for search committees to share with semi-finalists or finalists for faculty and staff positions, Selected Resources for Western Washington University Employees highlights some of Western’s resources for diverse employees, including people of color, people with disabilities, and LGBT people.
