A Message from the Vice Provost for Equal Opportunity and Employment Diversity, Title IX & ADA Coordinator
Welcome. The Spring issue of the EO Office Newsletter shares information about the 50th anniversary of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and actions we can all take to remove barriers to employment inclusion at Western. We review requirements, reporting options and resources about responding to sexual violence reports, and discuss the launch of Haven, an online sexual violence prevention training provided to all students last quarter and continuing in future quarters for all new students. A similar training, Haven for Employees, will also be provided to new employees in Fall 2015. The Newsletter also notes the Executive Order on LGBT Workplace Discrimination that went into effect this spring. Finally, we highlight the variety of equal opportunity trainings offered by our office, Western’s first annual celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Day, and print and electronic resources provided by the EO Office, including a new map of gender neutral restrooms on campus, our guide to the hiring process, and materials about Title IX.
