Design Department Scholarships

Scholarships are available for Design majors each Spring. In 2023, we were able to award approximately $16,000 to 12 Design students.

Scholarships offered by the Department of Design include:

Jackson Zechnich Memorial Scholarship

Criteria: Whenever possible, preference will be made to applicants who demonstrate interest and commitment to using design for social good; Demonstrated interest in innovation in the field of design; Financial need will also be considered.

Art Merit Scholarship (for Design)

Criteria: Merit based scholarship – no other criteria.

Mary Davis Gillies Johnston Endowment for Art

Criteria: Shall be awarded each year to junior students who are declared majors in Design, must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in their major, will be considered based on their design presentations, financial aid criteria will not be considered.

Abigail Miller Busche & Ryan Busche Memorial Art Scholarship

Criteria: Will provide funds to students with financial need who have a passion for art and are dedicated to pursuing a career in art. The students must hold junior or senior status.

Nancy and Ralph W. Babcock, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Design Production

Criteria: Scholarships shall be awarded by a selection committee chosen by the chair.

Vassdal Design Scholarship

Criteria: Award one scholarship to a student pursuing a degree in Design.

Design Department Scholarship

Criteria: Scholarships for Design department students.

Design Department Tuition Waiver Award

Criteria: Students selected must be undergraduates, enrolled full-time, and be of superior academic ability.
