Safe and Warm: Remember to close classroom windows

<p>As "open-window season" comes into full swing, we would like to remind people to close windows when leaving classrooms and other spaces on campus. Windows that are left open present both security and sustainability challenges.</p>

<p>When temperatures plunge as the sun goes down or the wind picks up, the heating system kicks in and generates wasted energy and carbon emissions that simply fly out the window. As Western strives to meet ambitious climate goals, the contributions of all of us are key for success.</p>

Local Action Week 2024: Bellingham Plan Open House

The Office of Civic Engagement is delighted to bring back the City of Bellingham planning team for another student-focused open house! Planners will be located in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room from 11:00am to 1:30pm on Monday, May 6th, to talk to students about their experiences living in Bellingham, the basics of the Bellingham Plan, and what they would like to see for the long-term future of our city. Drop in anytime to give feedback on what you'd like to see in our community. Lunch will be provided!

On April 20, celebrate the magic of drag with LGBTQ+ Western

<p>Western Washington University is hosting its 32nd Annual Drag Show on April 20. Western’s annual drag show is the longest running university drag show in Washington and organized by LGBTQ+ Western, a program under The Centers for Student Access, Community, and Intercultural Engagement at Western.  </p>

<p>The theme for this year's show is “Smoke &amp; Mirrors: The Magic of Drag.” With each performance, the drag show coordinating team asked the cast to answer the question “what makes your drag magical?”   </p>

Spring 2024 subscriptions update from Western Libraries 

<p>The Western Libraries has finalized the outcomes of the 2023-24 subscription review process. These changes, most of which will take effect on January 1, 2025, are part of an ongoing effort to ensure that the university’s portfolio of journal, database, and e-book subscriptions remains dynamic and relevant.   </p>

Muljat Group establishes donation program for WWU

<p>Bellingham, WA — To provide greater support to students and programs at WWU, Kena Greer Brashear (’95) and Peter Ahn (’13), co-owners of the Bellingham-area real estate agency The Muljat Group, have developed a plan to donate a portion of their total agency compensation to benefit students at Western. Under the program, Muljat will donate 25% of agency compensation from qualified home sales to The Foundation.</p>
